Dead Sea Resort
The MOAV Spa Resort is conceived as a Temple to the Dead Sea, a Temple to Health of the Mind, Body, and Spirit. Our design concept poses a simple question – why not bring the healing properties of the Dead Sea up to the heart of the site – at the edge of Arad. The MOAV Site has been understood as an epic edge condition; one at the edge of the Desert, at the edge of the Dead Sea Rift, at the edge of Human History. The Spa will naturally be the heart and soul of this New Masada – once again on the edge of the world. The Spa Waters are set within a long rift at the sacred center of the Temple between gardens; an Almond Orchard ‘wind break’ on the west and a set of internal Wadis leading guests to Guest Suites and out toward the Dead Sea – the later replete with dappled desert shade, birdsong, the smell and sounds of precious water. At the desert’s edge are the Living, Dining, Spa and Pool Lounges, which are conceived as a ‘filter / foil / frame’ to the infinite and sometimes fleeting qualities of space, light and time that the desert epitomizes.
Some guest suites will have their own saltwater pool at the edge of the Dead Sea. The architecture is a cast stone vessel for water and life, one whose rhythms are intended to merge into the deep time of this place, into the changing light and colors of the geology of the Negev and Judean deserts. Some guest suites will have their own saltwater pool at the edge of the Dead Sea.
