OASIS TOWN SQUARE is the unanimously approved Campus Master Plan for the Valley Unitarian Universalist (VUU) Congregation in Chandler, Arizona. In 2018, WBA was selected by the VUU Board to lead visioning sessions with the VUU congregation to establish priorities and deliver contractor-estimated Master Plan Options. The Master Plan emerged from UU principles in service of their Community and Faith within limitations of their site / resources. VUU consensus determined that inherited existing Sanctuary at campuses SE corner would be re-purposed as a Fellowship Hall ringed by – a new kitchen, new restrooms / showers, existing nursery and new Faith Formation rooms – which would importantly integrate preschool, kindergarten-1^st grade, 2^nd-3^rd grade, 4^th-5^th grade (from across the parking lot) behind a ‘new VUU identity scrim’ that would create a dialogue with an equally scaled new Sanctuary / Multi-Purpose Room (for music and spoken word) at campuses NE ‘main entry corner’. In between is a third space – an OASIS TOWN SQUARE – which serves as meeting / overflow space for what was envisioned as an Interfaith Center serving VUU and other congregations and causes in the East Valley.
